Red Red Red
Good afternoon loves, I'm sitting at Empire coffee working on this blog. It's the cutest spot to grab a great cup of coffee, and has kind of become my go to spot for blogging when I don't want to work from home. How are all of you doing? There's a lot on my mind today with hurricanes wreaking havoc on our southern states, and with things in the news lately. One thing I know is that I want to support those afflicted by the hurricane disasters and support those who are affected by the President's decision to overturn DACA. This decision puts many children's futures in jeopardy.
It's so important to stay informed about what's happening in our country, and I'll be there first to admit that I can do a better job of that. There's a balance for me to stay informed, but not to become overly cynical. That's not who I want to become. Instead, I'm going to stay informed and use the voice that I have for good.
With all that's going on in the world, it can seem pretty insignificant to be writing a post about fashion. I started writing this post thinking like that. It hit me though, that in the hard times, it's even more important to come together and share encouragement. Fashion and creativity is how I do that. So I will continue to be informed, but also spread encouragement and creativity through fashion.
Minnesota Fashion week starts tomorrow, and I will be attending the VIP influencer event for the first time. As you can imagine, I'm ecstatic. Red has always been a favorite color of mine, and it's all the rage this fall. Here's a dress from Zara that is a wrap style and so flattering. I will be sporting some red in my outfit for tomorrow's kick-off of fashion week. Stay tuned to see photos of that event.
As I finish writing this post, I read over it and get a dissatisfied feeling. A feeling like it doesn't flow the way that I want to. But then that makes sense to me. It's kind of messy, and doesn't seem to fit perfectly. That's life sometimes. How we walk through it, it doesn't always flow perfectly. But that's ok. It's more that we keep walking, keep encouraging one another.
